Decrypting /home partition on another linux pc

Very recently my Linux system has crashed ( I use Linux Mint 14 cinnamon 64 bit edition) and i can't mount my root partition and it seems that the filesystem can't be recovered because i even tried running badblocks but without any result. And my /home partition is totally encrypted what i want to know is that possible to decrypt that /home partition on another Linux pc? If possible how would i do it? Many many thanks in advance.

Look into a live CD that supports the encryption you've used. Quite possibly the Mint install disc will do the job.
Or fix/reinstall the broken system partition with it.

Live mint dvd would be the start. Might try testdisk also to try to access /.

I'd also make a huge assumption that the encryption scheme will allow you to just enter a password and that no part of /root filesystem is needed on home. I have had this happen in opensuse so I assume this will open on mint just fine.
