Exclamation debug kernel with gdb

I am doing a project on kernel modification, and I need to use gdb for debugging the kernel. I just need to modify the sched.c file in the kernel. Any suggestions? Any useful links?

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/li...brary/l-kdbug/ and http://elinux.org/Kernel_Debugging_Tips both seem to be useful I'm afraid I haven't done any kernel modification myself so can't give very pertinent advice...

Unless your distro has modified it for themselves (ie. Ubuntu with Firefox) then it should do I consider this rather unlikely, so the answer is "probably yes"
