Debian that does NOT require internet access to install.

Hi.
I had downloaded and burned lates Debian install off their site, however it stallas out on installation when it fails to obtain ip. The way my school's ISP is set i will not have internet acesss whatsoever untill computer goes to their page thru i-net browser, hence I need to install system in offline mode.
Where can I download offline debian?

http://www.debian.org/CD/http-ftp/ You might want to check which packages are on the CDs cause you only need a window manager and a web browser and you can download the rest once you got internet. On those 7 or 8 CDs might be a lot of packages you'll never use.

As darkleaf said: you will probably not need all of the CD-s.
To get you up and running you just need the first (and maybe the second) CD-s from their 7 or 8 CD-set.
And if you can download and burn as you said - just do that. It will be faster and even cheaper than to by (and wait for them to arrive) the full CD-set.
I've used Debian/GNU a long time till I build LFS and use that now - if you have a little experience in linux already, installing Debian/GNU should not be hard to do...

Have fun

Jochen
