Debian server software


I just installed Debian server software on my primergy MX130 S2 server. Cannot boot and shows /bin/sh:can't access tty; job control turned off
(initramfs)

A little more context would be great, such as other messages leading to this error, and what happens after this message is issued. Also, what have you done so far to find a solution.
