debian:sending files via bluetooth fails

Hi,

Im using debian stable (squeeze 6.0.4) on my sony laptop.

I'm unable to send files via bluetooth from the laptop to my phone, although they have been paired.

/var/log/syslog shows:
Code:
NetworkManager[1339]: bluez_manager_bdaddr_removed_cb: assertion `bdaddr != NULL' failed
any ideas?

TIA

How are you sending the files? What app are you using?
The only way I've ever succeeded is by using Nautilus File manager. It sees a BT phone just like another drive.

Note that you can't use bluetooth to transfer files and as an Internet access at the same time. (I'm not saying that's the problem you're having, I'm just mentioning this as something to keep in mind)

Hmmm! Ok, I just tested this myself. (haven't done this in a while)

I'm also having issues sending files to the phone. I seem to be able to retrieve files well enough though.

Can you test if you are able to navigate your phone's directory and retrieve a file?

What make of phone are you using and which OS is it running?

The BT applet doesnt show my phone in the "broswe files" entry, although it shows it in the send files to device entry. another debian bug?

The phone is a sony xperia x10, android 2.3

Yesterday, I've apt-get --reinstall the BT packages, and was then able to send and receive to/from the laptop.
This morning, I'm again unable to send/receive from the laptop.
