Debian Sarge Internet access problems
I just got Debian Sarge (1 CD) installed on my laptop, while the system works relativly fine (some bugs discovered however) I cannot seem to get through to the internet.
I have my network cable in and all seems like it should work, however it just plain does not see the network. The strange thing is that I am using Knoppix STD right now to type this message on the very self-same machine.... Does it seem strange that one distribution can access the internet on start up and the other cannot?
The Debian Sarge as far as I can make out is a minimal install and needs plenty of goodies off the net. I was wondering if anyone would know how I could get Sarge onto the net. Perhaps there is some information I could while I am working on Knoppix that would aid me. Suggestions would be most welcome.
p.s. I did try doing dselect from knoppix to download straight to HD, but Knoppix STD has preventative measures for this... Ta.
