Question Debian mysql_installation_directory

Please help.
I been looking everywhere but I can't find where the mysql_installation_directory is on my Debian box.
I also tried 'shell> locate mysql' but the list is long and i still can't tell where mysql_installation_directory is.

hi gruessle,

your try with locate was not as wrong as you think...
just pipe it to more to see the whole output a little slower:

locate mysql | more

scrolling row for row is done with "Enter"
scrolling a whole page with "Space"

hope that helps....

That is much better.
But what am I looking for?

/usr/bin/mysql
/usr/bin/mysqladmin
...

/usr/sbin/mysqld
...

/usr/share/mysql
...

/var/lib/mysql
...

I think '/usr/bin/mysql' is the location right?
