debian/linux equivalent of a private "dropbox"?

are there debian (or linux in general) packages which provide a private "dropbox"-like service, namely, where files will be accessible through the web and synchronized when updated?.

TIA

Tnx for the replies.

an rsync/sshfs setup requires manually syncing the files after updates. dropbox auto. syncs files, so all the clients have the latest version.

Im looking to run my own "cloud", not to store stuff online on someone else's server.
