Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I'm trying to install Debian "Sarge" 2.4 or 2.6 kernel on an intel based rack server. The server has an HP NetRaid-3si controller with 4 disks in a raid level 5 array. I've tried using the kernel select install disk(Disk 1) and the bf2.4 install (Disk 5). I also tried the bf2.4 install from Debian "Woody". I made an attempt to load the modules from a disk I created from another debian system. On the disk I included the megaraid, megaraid2, and scsi_mod modules, but while loading scsi_mod, I get a load failure message. Does scsi_mod have any other dependencies? in the modules.dep file it listed none(unless I read it wrong). So my question is, is there any special way of going about getting the debian installer to detect the NetRaid? Thanks in advance!
I switched into one of the terminals, and mounted the floppy drive. I used insmod to load the megaraid module and it detected the drives! I'm completing the install now. Hopefully the Raid level 5 was maintained and it didn't install to just one disk. I'll update again once I check that.
