Alright I don't know where to start so I am just going to start jumping facts and see if anyone can help me.
I was on an irc chat and we got into the topic of ps3 linux systems. I am super new to Linux and wanted something that I can really take apart and learn. So I chose Debian PPC for my ps3 so I can compile the kernel. So I got the Debian ISO and the PS3 Linux Distributor's Starter Kit (PS3 LDSK). I went to work on my ps3... Anyways... booted up started installed debian, not installing the GUI or the kernal (didn't have it). So I just installed the base system. That was peachy. I went to compile the kernel and after some tinkering I got it to do so. Then I went to input the command "depmod -av". That didn't work.. So I thought I could just install depmod, I used the command "apt-get install depmod". That didn't work either! So I said.. ehh to hell with that and skipped over. I went and created "kboot.conf" (Or I think I did.. I didn't get an error or confirmation). I continued to install the desktop (KDE) with the command, "aptitude install kde adm" (that was successful). I have tried rebooting and everything but I still am at kroot:. I can't get out of it and I can't get into gui. Is there a way that I can install depmod? Also I don't have internet.. I can't figure out how to get going through kroot.
My question is how do I get the internet working, and is there a way to install depmod?
