Debian 7 - Remove Network-Manager for DNS?

Hi guys, a lot of people recommend to just remove/uninstall network-manager if you are setting up a DNS server with BIND9 because it complicates stuff. I've never really been a fan of removing things that are default in something. By default, network-manager is set to not manage the eth devices. Is this just as good as uninstalling it? I just don't want to uninstall it, I like having the icon there etc., anyways, is keeping network-manager disabled just as good as removing it?

Hi,

it should be fine to keep it installed, but it's probably best to disable the daemon from starting.
Eg
Code:
update-rc.d network-manager disable
Evo2.
