Debian 7 keeps auto connecting to ifupdown
Theres a problem with my Debian 7 box, it keeps auto connecting to an network called "ifupdown (eth0)". Here is what I did below:
To start off, by default, Network Manager was disabled which meant I could not connect to the internet. To enable it I followed this guide here http://wiki.debian.org/NetworkManager and changed [ifupdown] managed=false to [ifupdown] managed=true Once I did that a new connection named "ifupdown (eth0)" appeared and it connected to that. That connection works except its set to DHCP and I need it to be Static however for some reason I cant remove or edit it. SO, I set up a new connection with the static, and now from time to time it re-connects to the "ifupdown (eth0)" connection. How do I fix this? I am wired and not connecting wireless. A workout would to be to remove the ifupdown connection right? How would I remove it? THANK YOU!!! |
I suggest you follow this solution.
