Debian 5.0 Network-Manager interfers with vnet0 bridging to eth0 for virt-manager
Hi i'm trying to install virt-manager , to run a couple of virtual machines, i created a virtual nic vnet0 and bridged it to my eth0, i have configured the /etc/network/interfaces file with proper static ip, but i beleive the network manager is renaming my nic to eth1 and causing all kinds of problems. I uninstalled network manager and now i can ping anywhere in the network, but not outside it. ie google.com
any ideas would helpful. |
Check your default route
route -n and your DNS settings cat /etc/resolv.conf Without network manager in a static environment you may have to manually set those items.. |
yes i checked the resolv.conf file all nameservers check out, i will get back to you on the route when i get home. the weird part is that the virtual machine has internet connectivity but not the host. I will try and get more specific info, will post soon.
thx for the up |
