Dear Group, We received a requirement for configuring a web URL

Dear Group,

We received a requirement for configuring a web URL in Zenoss 4.2.0 for monitoring the website every 5 minutes whether the website is working or not.

Kindly reply as quick as possible if anyone know this or working on this.

i think it would be easiest to schedule a crontab that runs wget against your website every 5 minutes.

Since you need a reply "as quick as possible", did you try putting "how to monitor a website with zenoss" into Google???? Maybe taking a look at the first three hits???

http://wiki.zenoss.org/ZenPack:HTTP_Monitor

This is a volunteer forum; telling people to hurry up and answer you, because you are in a hurry is fairly rude. We volunteer our time here...and if you were hired to do this by a client, asking others to do your work for you is even worse.

Agreed.

But, remember that some countries do not have access to 'Google' or any of the other BIG American search engines. Also, the whole world isn't even aware of Google. Some countries use their own little local search engines, which don't have the number of results we are used to here in the US. Not saying that this is the case here, but it's something to consider. (Recent out of country experience FWIW)

Understand, and I realize all of that. However, the OP indicated that they already have Zenoss, which indicates awareness of it. That said, such awareness should also lead to knowledge of plug-ins and the Zenoss website/forums, where that question was dealt with.

Also, the OP probably found THIS site with a Google search...and while some countries do censor/restrict internet access, the fact that Zenoss was found would indicate that they have the capability to search for zenoss and related topics.

Great points, no doubt.

Just throwing that out there,. I'm back from a trip and I have a new viewpoint after having some search/access issues myself.

Anyway,. yeah. Hit up the Zenoss forum, and find 'http monitor' in there and set up a simple monitor. It's hard to explain in text -- look at the pictures they provide, or hit up a video.
