Dead debian install - how to disable fsck?
Hi folks,
I have a file server that will no longer boot. It has a few RAID controllers in it, and after a power cycle, it comes up and throws the usual "xxx days since last check, forcing fsck". However at that point, there is no progress bar, no status, nothing - the machine just sits there indefinitely. I know there are ways to disable the fsck from the filesystem once it's up, but I can't get the machine to boot at all right now to make any changes. I'm running Debian 5.0. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
Does it do an fsck if you boot into single user mode (i.e. maintenance mode)?
