dc++ client behind a linux router

i have clients behind a linux router that can`t start download from other users in active mode. i don't know how to do that. i found in an dc++ client in active mode to configure an ip and a port. i guess i have to forward them from server to client.
do you have any ideeas on how can i solve this problem?

Thank you!

Hi Spank,

I have to admit that I have never actually used DC++. Having read through the FAQ for DC++ on their site (http://dcpp.net/faq/faq.php?lang=en&...aqnr=11&prog=1) you definitely need to set your router to forward certain incoming ports to your machine. Which ports you forward - it would seem - is up to you, and you then configure your client application to listen on those specific ports.

So you need to do 4 things:
+ Choose which ports you want incoming traffic to use.
+ Go to your router's configuration page (I presume you have a router with web-based configuration) and forward those incoming ports to your machine.
+ Configure your DC++ client application to "listen" on those ports.
+ Cross your fingers.
