hi everyone...

this little nice win-vista tool has started a quick format to my external usb-hd (sdb)

i had 2 primary and 1 extended with 3 or 4 logical partitions...

does anyone has an idea for an linux tool to read traces of the destroyed MBR to resque all data?

kind reguards

'testdisk' could help write a partition table by recovering partition boundary information and extract files if the directory structure is intact, 'photorec' can "carve out" certain types of files if the partitions remain inaccessable. Gentoo should have those packages available else they're on the KNOPPIX and HELIX Live CDs.
