Question Datapipe


Hey ,
did anyone already have worked with datapipe?
i would like to know how to compile it , since i have the source code in c,
this command is not working!!
gcc -Wall datapipe.c -lsocket -lnsl -o datapipe

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lsocket
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

this is the error message

Linker error, you're missing a shared library. Check datapumps
requirements, and see whether you have them all installed ;}

isnt there a compiler and a linker with a graphic interface , like maybe dev-c++ ?

There are IDEs, but that won't fix that problem, and the error
message will remain the same ;}

There's KDevelop, Anjuta, to name just two ..

i didnt get how i should scan and see the missing shared libraries, bit confusing

I don't know/have datapump, but commonly sources come with
README and INSTALL files. Also one of there will commonly
tell you which prerequisites there are. Some will even mention
where to acquire the prerequisites ;}
