Data Recovery

My laptop died. I was running FC11. I have taken my harddrive out and connected it to an usb-adaptor and mounted it on my FC11 desktop. However when I open it all I see is grub. palimpsest sees both the 250MB of grub and efi etc. and it also sees 120GB of LVM2. I cannot however access any of my data. I am sure there is a way to do this, can anyone help give a newbie some direction?

Thank you.

You have a choice of Knoppix 5.x with test disk.
It's best to mount it 'externally."

Likely that you have the same vg and lv names on both systems, so you can't mount the USB connected one. You'll have to give it different names.
The FC11 install CD/DVD disk should activate LVM automatically, then use vgrename to give it a different name. Search here on LQ you'll find plenty who have also had to do this.
