Damn Knoppix Problems

Well so much for using knoppix, I didn't even do anything and It won't work.

I have v3.3 , boot from the disk, at the boot: prompt I hit enter, it stands at a linux prompt for a few seconds then says HDE not ready or something similar, and says that over and over until I pull the power plug in frustration. I tried putting this disk in both of my CD-ROM drives, with no luck.

are you sure this a good cd?

if its burned, might be errors in burn or download.
check md5 of iso file.

What kind of hardware do you have in the machine is there a raid array or do you have a raid controller on the motherboard? Have you tried using just failsafe at the boot: prompt to boot with minimal hardware detection? Some other cheat codes you may want to try.

If linux is so superior why can't it even boot up, no user error here, I don't do anything and it won't run

Linux is a very powerful OS but there are some things you have to setup before it will work.
I believe this should work at the boot: prompt type
Code:

boot: knoppix lang=us screen=800x600 desktop=kde
then press Enter.

you can set screen to 800x600, 640x480, etc.
for a list of different options press f2.
