The best thing to do, IMO, is to set Cygwin up to download ONLY and select everything. Then after that is complete, you can place the data on a DVD or network share, and go to each computer and run the setup.exe file again. At this point, you can chose to install from a local directory, and it will install much faster. You can use the search box at the top of the INSTALL window to search for particular packages that you want to make sure get installed by setting them to INSTALL.

HTH

google the abbreviation
IMO ="In My Opinion "
a few other you might see
RTFM = "Read The "bleep" Manual "

as to reading i would advise that you do a bit of studying ( yes as in school )

though CygWin will run some -- about 70% -- of linux programs on MS windows
is will be a bit slow
every call has to be ran through the "cygwin.dll"
it is a bottleneck

You will also come across "MinGW "
Mingw builds WINDOWS programs( .exe, .dll - well with dlltool ) from Linux source code

and they both DO NOT behave like MS Windows
they work very differently
for one
Spaces in folder names and file names
like
C:\\Program <SPACE> Files
that folder will cause some problems

so you might want to do some reading
