CVS to Drupal.org. Connection Refused (?)

Greetings All -

We just set up a brand new Red Hat box, and we would like to use CVS to check out the latest stable version of Drupal. We know CVS is installed, but we don't want to set up our own repository. All we want to do is connect to Drupal! I've done this a thousand times on other servers, but for some reason when we run this command:

Code:
cvs -d:pserver:anonymous:anonymous@cvs.drupal.org:/cvs/drupal checkout -d ~/www/DRUPAL-6-10 drupal
I get a big "Connection Refused" error.

Could this somehow be a firewall issue on our end? If so, what would we need to do?

If this is a CVS issue, is there any basic configuration we need to do to the CVS client itself?

Again, all we need to do is connect to Drupal; we will not be serving any content from our own server. Thanks!

I went into my /tmp folder and created a drupal folder there (so now I have /tmp/drupal
I executed the command from /tmp:
Code:
cvs -d:pserver:anonymous:anonymous@cvs.drupal.org:/cvs/drupal checkout drupal
Notice that I removed the second "-d" option
It worked perfectly. If I wanted to use drupal, I would move my drupal folder with all the cvs stuff to an appropriate place.
Cheers,
jdk

thanks for responding! when i run your command i get the exact same error:

"cvs [checkout aborted]: connect to cvs.drupal.org(140.211.166.46):2401 failed: Connection refused"

if this were a firewall issue on our end, would i still get that error?

If you haven't told your firewall about cvs that it could be.
cheers,
jdk
