highlight the selected text, move to destiniation, press 3rd button, or both buttons for a 2 button mouse, assuming you've got 3rd button emulation on

c0c0deuz 10-30-2001 03:12 PM

Is there other way of doing so without the mouse?

ctrl-c and ctrl-v work for me. what prog are you using?

acid_kewpie 10-30-2001 05:26 PM

that really is one of the stupidest standards there is. Control + c for copy. might be convenient, but control + C is obviously the most common escape sequence... what prat thought it was a good HCI idea... ahh well...

every realised that ctrl+c doesn't work in windows telnet... with good reason.

true... ctrl-c was probably the stupidest idea in the whole history of metacharacters. i hate to admit it, but i really prefer the ms-windows standard of ctrl-insert and shift-insert for cut-and-pasting.

phek 11-01-2001 12:38 PM

since when has ms used ctrl + insert and shift + insert for cut and paste? every ms application I've ever used was ctrl c,x and v. I do remember back in slack 2.x days shift +insert and ctrl+insert worked for cut and paste but thats long gone.

O yah in my current slack 8 its just left click to paste. though i think if i hit both buttons it does too. (i only have a 2 button mouse)
