Customizing GnoMenu

The distribution I chose came with the GnoMenu, and it's really cool that I can customize it. But so far I only know how to change the GnoMenu button itself to things that I have to download from the internet. Can anyone tell me how to create my own GnoMenu button themes? And sound themes, if you have a lot of spare time? I'd really appreciate it.
