Custom Icons

I have a 128x128 png and want to use that as an Icon for a particular application. I am in KDE and tried to change the icon in the Menu Editor but the png file is always greyed out so I cannot select it. Any ideas on how I can change the icon?

You'll probably have to make it an ico.
