And no, how can ANYONE tell you what your job prospects are? They are limited by your
ABILITIES...and no one knows what the future may hold. You may be able to get in the door with a 'certification', but if you don't have the KNOWLEDGE behind it, it will be VERY obvious, and your job prospects will be next to nothing. And if you can't write/speak clearly, no amount of certifications will matter.
LEARN the subject...don't get pointless certifications. This goes for Linux/IT fields, as well as ANY occupation. Not meaning to sound nasty, but knowledge and experience are always valued more than a certificate. The bonus of that approach is that, by the time you take a test, you'll know the subject inside and out, and breeze through things.
