CUPS Server error

I have a print server on ip address 192.168.123.254 with queue name of lp on port 515, so I set the cups server to connect to host: lpd://192.168.123.254/lp and port of 515. Whenever it goes to initialize it throws an error saying that it is 'Unable to retrieve the printer list. Error message received from manager.' What else do I need to configure for this to work properly?

Thanks,
Shaun

May well depend on the print-server you're using.

Did you read
http://localhost:631/sam.html#COMMON_NETWORK
?

I've read through that manual but I still can't figure out what else I could possibly do. It is a print server in my router, I have had it configured before on almost an identical setup, but I don't remember doing anything different from just entering the ip and queue name in hostname and port 515...

The thing is that none of the examples in the manual use
both a queue-name and a port, but only one of those.

What make and model is that router of yours?

Its a SMC Barricade 7004BR router/print server... The website says the queue name is 'lp' and port number is 515 and it's ip is 192.168.123.254. I can't figure out any other information or settings that I need to setup to get this thing to work. The last time I remember doing this, this is all I had to do and it initialized ok. I don't know what the trouble is now. I can also ping the router so there is no blocked connection.
