creating installable cd of my custom linux distro

hello there,
i am in the process of creating a custom linux distribution out of Ubuntu 12.04. i have recompiled the kernel with a few custom tweaks, added a light desktop enironment and uninstalled certain unwanted programs. now i want to create my own distribution CD of this operating system for my small office .
I have alraedy tried REMASTERSYS, which has been discontinued, hence. i have created a backup (ISO)from RELINUX which is not getting deployed on a VM or not helpful in creating a installable CD.
i need help in creating a installable CD of the OPERATING SYSTEM from my PC so that i can use it as a CUSTOM DISTRO.
I'm a newbie please dont mind my language and inadequacy of information if any
Regards

For Debian based systems, including Ubuntu, you can use Debian's Live Systems, it is more complex to use than Remastersys, but should fit your purpose.

Dear Tobi,
the live system builder makes you choose from its own libraries for creation of a live system. This doe not help me. i want to create the image of my own base system that i have created myself. i need a software like Remastersys to roll out omy own distro, anyways thanks for the suggestion

Here's another take on things: just don't.

Now this may not be the answer you're looking for but try look at it this way. First of all compiling in tweaks (you found somewhere on the 'net?), changing Desktop Environments and uninstalling software are local changes. And sure you may be proud of your handiwork but those changes do not make it "your own Linux distribution". Secondly if you'll be using this you'll be responsible for supplying (meaning patching, testing, troubleshooting, re-issuing your "distro") security, bug fixes and other updates as they are released. More than that, once the release you based your work on becomes obsolete you'll have to put in more work into it. People rarely realize that creating and supporting a Linux distribution means having the man power, time and infrastructure to actually support all the choices, patching, testing, supporting troubleshooting and such that goes into it.

So what I would suggest is to use officially supplied, supported and maintained distribution images and a local repo or deployment method to get your changes rolled out.

Live Builder can be used for exactly that, making a copy of an installed system for deployment. Of course, what unSpawn said still applies.

What happened with remastersys and Ubuntu 12.04. I've used it on 12.04 without any problems and have seen a number of posts at the Ubuntu forums indicating others have done it also. Some details on what you tried and what went wrong might lead to some positive suggestions. I haven't used the other software suggested but that might be worth looking into also.

Instead of an installer maybe some copy/clone also. Almost any live cd/usb and be used to clone and copy. Special cd's/usb's are made just for cloning.

Linux and windows were at one time very tied to the hardware. Slowly linux moved away and was almost independent of hardware install. Sadly they are getting back with it but a 12 system ought to be easily moved I believe without regard to knowing hardware or changes.
