Creating an Audio CD
 

Hey, i dunno if this belongs to the hardware, or software part, but here it goes.

When i try to make an audio cd, let's say make it 70 minutes, half way of burning it, it just destroys my memory and cpu speed and i'm forced to restart. Now when i try and test it with just one song, i do it, it works, but the music is wierd and everything gives wierd noises and stuff.


Can anyone help?

I use K3b.

You need to be more specific... what are you doing to create the audio CD? Which software are you using - version etc. Have you ever succeeded in making a music CD by this or any other means before?

ok well it's the latest version of K3b, I can make data cds, dvd data discs, etc. I was never successful in making an audio cd(only when there is one track on it and even then the sound is really messed up)

OK - never heard of it.
However, these things are normally just frontends for something else like cdrecord.
Somewhere in the interface there will be a configuration tab - not always called that exactly but you'll knowit when you see it.
Go to config, and have a look through all the options - you'll probably see dialog boxes with calls to the program(s) it is frontending.
Look for the bit where it goes on about making and audio CD.

BTW:
You still havn't said all the steps you did.
Did you do the bit about finalising the burn? Did you check that the 70mins of music was smaller than the CD capacity? Are the record speeds right? Any buffer overruns? (I know that a 700Mb CD is supposed to manage 80mins music but that dosn't mean that it will...)
