creating an algorithm

Create an algorithm and a script to notify you when the IP address of your machine changes. It should email root of your local machine. You may have to use grep and cut. Can anyone help explain this to me.

This is an obvious homework question. This site has a policy against doing other peoples homework.

You might start by reading the System Administrator's Guide. You can download it from the www.tldp.org website.

Which part do you not understand?

And to make it less tempting for some of our most

me via e-Mail so I can see why I should re-open the
thread which I'm closing with these words ...

Cheers,
Tink
