Creating a "shortcut"

I have just recently installed NetBeans and the installer informed me that I needed to run "/opt/NetBeans3.6/bin/runide.sh". This is fine but I'm wondering if there is a way that I can create a shortcut like item on my desktop.

Thanks,
Mike

Easily. Which desktop manager are you running, KDE, Gnome, other?

Then just right click on your desktop, select create new ... file ... link to application and fill in the "General" and "Application" tabls, putting the command to run in the "Command" field of the application tab.
