Double posting is a sin :tisk:
Homework projects are for your benefit so that you can learn to program, not learn how to plagiarise. A qualification based on the work of others is but a piece of paper. If you don't contribute a significant amount of the effort yourself, you will be considered to be cheating, which could stop you getting that bit of paper in the first place. Here (the programming forum) you will get help with the sticky bits that you can't get your head around. Knock up a shell environment to do just one of the items your list. and submit the code and any notes required and the good folks will guide doubtless guide you. Yours is the first move though. Good Luck with the man pages. A few years ago you had to buy a stack of books to get significantly less information than is available to you 24*7 today.
Enjoy
