Creating a new Xwindow terminal emulator

I need to open a new Xwindow terminal emulator from shell command prompt and then run a program in this new shell. I want to write a shell script that will do all that. Can anyone tell me how I can do this?

I am using KDE 3.4

Thanks,
P.

So after some searching I came across xterm command. I think it will do what I'm trying to do.
