created 2 partitions in 1TB extrnal hdd.


greetings,

I have 1TB of USB drive in which i have created 2*500gb partitions and i want to use it in linux-5 on single mount point with 2partitions.
plz guide me over this.

What is 'linux-5'? Do you mean RedHat Enterprise Linux 5?

I don't understand what you're trying to do. You can't mount mount more than one partition on a single mount point, unless you use raid, but using raid wouldn't make sense since both partitions are on the same drive. If you want all 1TB accessible via a single mount point then create a single 1TB partition.

I am agree with "arizonagroovejet", that you cant mount multiple partitions on one mount point. You have to mount both the partitions on different mount points.

Hi all,

Yeah i was talking about rhel-5, I know that multiple partition cannot mount on a single mount point. Just trying to know any advance option for creating that.. Thanks a lot for your replies.
