crash on update fedora 9

Hi ! I have f9. My variant was 2.6.25-14 fc9 i686 (displayed by the grub at boot). I enter yesterday in the ad-remove programs and f9 propose me to update the system (automatic, when i start the add-remove programs "application"). I agree, it run automatically.
At a new boot, I have now one more option, 2.6.25.9-76 fc9 i686. If I choose it, it starts well, ask username and password, but after thatm when really entering in the system (after the password) the screen became black. Is seem that the objects are there, when i move the mouse it "feels" something - I was even able to restart the computer (blindly - I just guess in a new white empty window that there was the buttons for restart, close computer, cancel, etc). So it seems to be only a pronblem of display.
The bad thing is that also in the old varinat (2.6.25-14 fc9 i686) now I have the same problem. Practically, I cannot use anymore fedora !
Anybody has any Idea ? I have 3 computers, on all there is installed f9, but now I am afraid to update the other 2...
Thank you !

Your kernels seem to be OK.

What all did you update?

Do you use KDE4 ?
Do you have gnome installed too?

If yes, then boot to runlevel 3 (for this add the number to the kernel line after removing the last few lines in Grub)

Then login in the nonGUI mode and type

gdm

startx

start-kde

kdm
