CPU usage findout


Pls provide me command to find out total cpu usage (Not individually) of the system...

the best command is TOP

TOp will give you details about everything.

I don't want individual CPU consumption by processes, I want CPU consumption from whole system.

If you just need the CPU Utilization then use

sar 2 10

it will give u CPU Utilization of server for every 2 mins for 10 times

above command is for RHEL 4.

What distro are using.

in the header of the "top" command it will show the total usage of the processes in that system ...

Is it not enough ?
