Couple of newbie app questions

Nothing important here, but if someone could shed some light, I'd appreciate it. :)

1. I'm using xmms, and every time I reload it, it goes back to the default skin and my playlist goes away. Is there a way to save the current setup? I poked around in prefs but didn't see anything that resembled it. It's not a big problem, but it's a wee pain to always have to reload my mp3 folder and pick a non-ugly skin.

2. In Evolution, is there an option to close the original message when I reply to someone?

3. Is there a better AIM solution than GAIM? I downloaded Kopete (I believe it's called) but the installer keeps dying on me and I have to kill the process. :( Something less ugly would be great. :)

Thanks a ton to all the people that helped me out so far - my system is running and looking great now. :)

Whoops - sorry, KDE. Latest stable version... Which I would write instead of "latest stable version", if I knew how to find out what that number was. :D

Look in the kcontrol center (you can get there either through your menu or by typing kcontrol in a terminal), that will tell you what version you're using (probably 3.1.4).

I use kopete 0.7.4 compiled from source and it works great. I found the slackware package was buggy but when I compiled it worked great.

^^ Boing for another question..

Where's the option to boot with NumLock on? :)

I know, I know.. Terribly important stuff. ;)
