Unhappy Cound cut out after dropping to the command prompt.

Sound worked fine right after installing Ubuntu but then cut out on me one time after I opened the terminal using the ctrl + alt + F1 key combo. Anyone know what the problem is? If I could just reset the sound config to the default I think that would fix it.

Have you checked your mixer settings to see if anything has changed? Maybe the sound is muted. Post the output of lspci to this thread.

Unhappy Now I feel stupid.

Ok, I'm an idiot. I spent months trying to find out what was wrong with my sound, and all the time it was just muted. ::feels dumb::

At least you had the courage to own up to your oversight
