Couldn't figure out how to configure sync feature in Gnote note taker

I got Gnote and really like it and wanted to sync it via Dropbox to another computer. Well, I set it up to automatically sync every five minutes. (See screenshot 12)

In hindsight, I don't think I needed to do that. What happens if I leave that 'automatical sync...' box unchecked? Do I just have to sync it manually, which I did just to test it (See screenshot 13).

I don't use Gnote that often and having it sync every 5 minutes might be overkill. Does it use the computer resources to do so?

I think I might be better off just unchecking the automatical sync box and syncying manually.

And when I open the Gnote folder(s) in Dropbox it's just in html files. How do I get it to open as Gnote? (I'm assuming I have to download Gnote on the other computer, but even when I open the Dropbox/Gnote folder on this computer (which has Gnote already installed) it's giving me multiple folders, which I assume are because of the sync updates I did manually, and inside are all just html files (see screenshot 14).) Thanks.

This problem has morphed and gotten more complicated. As it stands, the original post needs no attention, so I'm marking it solved so no one wastes their time on it. Thanks
