hi

for me it is : "Xine Player must be installed in order to view Lesson Videos"

running bodhilinux non-pae on dell x300

i have a partial solution :
click on the video you want to read.
in the right part of the page where the video shold be displayed, make a right click, select "informations", click on the tab "media", search the line with .rm at the end (will be grayed) and copy it.

then open vlc (i had "rtsp://lv.vu.edu.pk/VULMS/MTH001/RV/MTH001_Lecture02.rm", vlc must be installed first) and choose "open a web link", paste the adress you've collected and read it.

hope it helps.

still searching...

Great Idea! BTW I extracted that rtsp:// url by right clicking and selecting <inspect element>. It is streaming. Now If only I couold make it to save the stream to my HDD?

hi

ok, inspect element gives you this info ? right, in my firefox it gives loads of info so the other way is more straightforward for me...
concerning the download : if you install the videodownloadhelper plugin for firefox, it may (perhaps ?) work : this plugin is intended to allow for downloading streaming media on youtube and such sites.
if this is not working i think there is a way to ask vlc to record the video that is playing but i don't know much about that

Well I am able to ask VLC to save the stream to a container but it constantly keeps breaking off. Perhaps This just ain't ment to be downloaded !:)

hi Nabeel

have you tried the videodownload plugin...?

Nabeel 04-22-2013 02:25 AM

Well I usually use the FVD videodownloader plugin but It doesn't seem to detect these videos? Altough it works with *mp4,*flv,*3gp,*avi and a wide verity of files It just doesn't detect these. However I've never tried anything other then it.

apogarte 04-23-2013 02:47 AM

hi nabeel

by installing the "mediaplayerconnectivity" plugin, it opens a vlc window when you clic on the video, and plays it.

i don't like a lot using plugins when all the corresponding functionalities should already do the job, but it is way easier like that (still looking for a clean solution !)

hope this helped
