Could I use Squid v2.5 in RHEL 5, by default its use v2.6

Recently I configure my NAT, DHCP, PROXY (my problem in this service) in RHEL 5 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5) in one Machine. I use the configuration files of main server which have been used as a (NAT, DHCP, PROXY) server since recently configuring server using RHEL 5.

All is ok but problem is in Proxy Service (Proxy is configure as Transparent Proxy). I find some information that RHEL 5 use proxy version 2.6 but RHEL 4 use proxy version 2.5, therefore proxy configuration file of squid v2.5 is not supported into the RHEL 5 which is by default squid v 2.6. And also iptables command to support transparent proxy.

Therefore I want to use squid v 2.5 in RHEL 5.Is it possible?and How?
Please help me. Or any other way to get rid of this problem.

Why do you want to revert back to the older version? Most of the option supported by V2.4 should be supported by v2.5 with some bug fixes. You should visit the squid homepage to know about the bug fixes and additional features put in.
I also have two different servers at different sites running squid on rhel4 and rhel5. I have updated squid on both to v2.6.
And both the versions support transparent proxying. I would suggest not reverting back to older versions. You could update older version to newer though.
