jschiwal means that you can use a live-cd which will allow you to see your important file & copy them.
Is your system setup with individual partitios or the default ubuntu setup?

guys,
thanks for your help and etc,
I was just desparate to go back and force and finally re-installed it from scratch.
Well I know it's not very smart but I have suspicion that something happened with my hdd that caused that problem and rejected me install over existing or see existing partitions. Every time it states: not file system found.
Well I have a new system now, will configure it back and etc ... This process is quite straightforward for me and I do have backup of major data on my DVD disk.
Well ... just afraid ( in case it's really a bad drive ) that it could happen again ... but after all this notebook is around 6 years old ... maybe it's time to think about new one
