Unhappy Copying file problem!

Ok, here's my problem.
I am desperate for Red Hat to be installed on my computer but I cannot seem to get X windows working at all!
So, I installed Mandrake and set everything up so it was working fine and then copied my XF86Config file to a floppy.

Is it actually possible for me to copy this file from my floppy to the /etc/X11 directory after I install Red Hat again from the prompt?

I have tried [ cp /mnt/floppy/XF86Config /etc/X11 ] and this is not working, it gives me the error:

cp: cannot stat '/mnt/floppy/XF86Config': No such file or directory

although using the exact same wording (cp /mnt/floppy/XF86Config /etc/X11) inside KDE when I ran Mandrake it managed to copy fine!

What can I do?

Have you tried mounting the floppy? Can you read from it if you have mounted to it.... ?
