I'm wondering what I might do about Mint not including OpenOffice. I have a lot of documents I worked hard to create on it. And my contacts will all be lost too, right? What can I do--copy them down in writing and start from scratch in whatever contact app Mint has?

I've ordered a Mint 11 USB flash drive.
