copying a hard drive with dd
 

Ive got a hard drive at the moment which im booting off, with several partitions.

I was just wondering if I installed another harddrive DD'ed the whole harddrive to this new harddrive and then replaced the first harddrive with this one, Would my system boot from the new drive (the naming conventions for the partitions would stay the same if I moved the HD to the right sata port I believe)

Would there be any problems with this?

I don't think so. This is what I have written it up.
