"copy cd" in k3b problem

I am on Kubuntu 8.04. When I click on "copy cd"with k3b, it comes up with "only create image" which is the only possibility allowed. When finished, I need to click on tools-->burn cd. I thought k3b was supposed to prompt for source disk, then ask you to take out source and put in blank disk. It does not do last 2 steps automatically. Have I got it badly configured?

Hi there ahurd,

Can you tell me, is the box "Only Create Image" a checkbox that you can untick?
If yes, then try the process again without this box checked.

If this box is checked then K3B will not automatically burn the CD for you, you have to do it manually (as you discovered).

If this does not help, it could may be a permissions issue.
You can try running k3b as root:-

# su
[rootpass]
# k3b

And then running "K3b Setup" from the Settings menu. This will sort out a lot of things.

Luke.
