Question Coping from ESX console to a Windows system

I am new to the Linux world and only know enough to Administer my ESX host servers. I need to copy a .xml.gz file from the ESX system to a Windows system so I can open this log file.

With that being said, my question is this. How can I do this?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Len

winscp is a great tool to run under windows to copy files in and out of a Linux environment. Note that by default windows can't open gzip archives. a tool like 7zip can though.

is that a logfile at all though? xml??

you can read it under Linux really easily though.... "less myfile.xml.gz" should show it just fine, as it will do the gzip decompression automatically for you and leave the original file totally untouched.
