Converting .rpm/.tar.gz to .deb packages
How do you do it? I have an Intel 865g graphics driver in both .rpm and .tar.gz formats, and I need to install the package in Mepis (which uses .deb packages). How do I convert the packages? It says something about using 'alien' and 'perl', but being a total Linux I dont have a clue what it's on about!

i dont know much about mepis or debian, but with the tar.gz (if it is a source pacakge) you can configure and make, and then use checkinstall to created a .deb package.
Search google for checkinstall there is probably a .deb package on the official website.
