Converting an ordinary partition to RAID 1 or RAID 5?

Hi,

I have RHEL 3 installed on a PC. I had my /home on 1 single IDE HDD. I now want to convert it to a RAID 1 or RAID 5 by adding more disks. Would be grateful if someone could give me the commands that I can run to convert my /home partition to RAID 1 or RAID 5 (just like I can use pvcreate, vgcreate, lvcreate to create LVMs after RHEL 3 is installed)

Rewriting existing howto's should be avoided. Try reading up on software RAID here: http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/doc...AID-HOWTO.html

and then come back to ask any questions on anything you don't understand, etc.

Cheers.
