The english is just fine...
I would say that if you are behind a router (which from your explanation it doesn't seem like you are)the first place to start would be to see if the configured gateway is correct...
If thats ok check to make sure that you have a DNS server configured.
You can take a look at your /etc/resolv.conf to see if you have a dns server configured.

If that doesn't work post again, I'll check back.

can you ping ip addresses?
ie: try to ping 64.179.4.149
then try typing it into your mozilla - see if that works

hafriz 09-07-2004 07:37 AM

nope... can't .. i have try it many time.. ping ip, ping web add.. nothing show

scuzzman 09-07-2004 08:08 AM

are you being assigned a valid ip address?

scuzzman

I entered 64.179.4.149 in my browser, and I saw a site that looked like LinuxQuestions.org

However, if I enter www.yahoo.com in my browser, I get the following message : www.google.com could not be found. Please check the name and try again.

OK - it's relatively rude to hijack threads. That aside:

Say WHAT?! It's trying to route www.yahoo.com to www.google.com? What you'd want to do is put your ISP's DNS servers into /etc/resolv.conf
You'll have to call tech support to get their DNS's
